Cheese Producer
Cheese plant achieves NPDES compliance with a bioPULSE™ MBR system, effectively treating dairy wastewater.
bioPULSE™ MBR System for Dairy Wastewater
Food & Beverage
Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) Removal | Total Suspended Solids (TSS) Removal | Ammonia Removal | Phosphorus Removal
Application Parameters
bioprocessH2O is equipped with a team of experts experienced in the wastewater industry. We provide solutions by offering innovative wastewater treatment systems that are custom built to each client’s needs and specifications. Allow bioprocessH2O to help you get the most out of your water with these recommended treatment systems.
The Problem
The Cheese production facility needed to install a wastewater treatment system to reduce the BOD, TSS, ammonia and phosphorus from a commingled process water stream generated during cheese and dairy production for compliance with a NPDES (surface water) Discharge Permit.
The Solution
bioprocessH2O supplied a bioPULSE™ Airlift Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) incorporating the energy efficient airlift external tubular and back-washable membranes. Permeate from the MBR treatment process meets and exceeds the permitted effluent limits for discharge to a fresh water stream.
The Results
The bioPULSE™ MBR has proven effective at reducing the BOD, TSS, ammonia and phosphorus from the dairy process water to meet effluent discharge requirements. To learn more check out our article: how to reduce BOD in wastewater
