The Problem

This was centralized wastewater treatment and recovery facility needed to upgrade their equipment. The wastewater is highly loaded with BOD and COD and the local POTW demanded significant reductions in organic loading for discharge to the municipal sewer.

The Solution

bioprocessH2O supplied a bioFAS™ MBBR biological treatment process using three (3) 50,000-gallon bioreactors for BOD and COD removal. Wastewater then flows to a bioprocessH2O supplied bioFLOW Membrane (MBR) System for MBBR effluent polishing, biosolids concentration and TSS removal.

The Results

The bioFAS™ MBBR System and bioFLOW MBR System effectively removes more than 90% of the COD and virtually eliminates BOD with minimal operator attention to meet local POTW effluent discharge requirements.
